Child's Play

If a child has a terminal or chronic illness, smiles are few and far between. If such a child was yours, you'd do anything you could to bring a smile to their face. One organization, Child's Play . is trying to do that in select local hospitals by providing these children with toys and video games. People who are interested in donating, can choose one of three options, direct donations through Paypal, texting GAMERS to 50555 (5 dollar donation), or by purchasing items on an Amazon.com Wishlist for a hospital near you. If you are a frequent Amazon shoppr like me, that might be the easy route since they take care of the shipping(with a fee of course).

A Susan G Komen Race For The Cure not only raised awareness and funds to fight breast cancer, but it also brought tourism and sales to Brentwood, TN, Near Nashville(according to the Tennessean_
. Volunteer vacations and charity events aren't new, but they are growing in popularity. People who may not have a lot of funds can donate their time instead and perhaps plan their vacation around volunteering or attending charity events, but you don't necessarily have to travel in order to attend most charity events or do a volunteer vacation, if you live in a city of a reasonable size; there are hundreds of possibilities where you could put your skills to good use.
